Jesus wept. He rejoiced. He loved. He became angry. He felt sorrow. He showed compassion. He faced anguish.
Jesus felt that.
We often talk about what Jesus said, what He did, and what He taught. Yet the Gospels also reveal something deeply personal: the emotional life of Christ.
In Jesus Felt That, Dr. David Powers uses the Feelings Wheel as a framework for exploring emotions throughout Scripture, beginning with Jesus whenever the biblical record provides a clear example and turning to other biblical personalities when their experiences offer the stronger fit.
From happiness, hope, peace, and confidence to sadness, fear, frustration, rejection, and anger, each emotion leads us back into Scripture to see how real people experienced the complicated emotional landscape of human life.
This isn't an attempt to force modern psychological language onto the Bible. Each emotion is examined through biblical events that closely fit it, allowing Scripture to guide the discussion.
Along the way, you'll discover that emotions aren't merely things to suppress, escape, or apologize for. They can reveal what matters to us, move us toward action, expose wounds, deepen relationships, and draw us toward God.
What did Jesus do when He felt what you are feeling?
What did David do?
Peter? Moses? Elijah? Mary? Paul?
And what can their experiences teach you about what to do next?
Jesus Felt That invites you to explore the emotional world of Scripture and discover something powerful waiting there:
Whatever you're feeling, there's a place to begin the conversation with God.
